TOP TIPS

Here are some tips to get the most from your BGE.




ONE
Always have a spare bag of lump!!!

TWO
Have the words 'Big Green Egg' facing forward on the cap when cooking at a high heat. When you open the egg, the cap stays open.


THREE
Have the words 'Big Green Egg' facing rearwards on the cap when cooking at a low heat. When you open the egg, the cap stays shut.


FOUR
Turn the thermometer so your target temp is at 12 O'clock, to make spotting the temp easier.


FIVE
Rake the old lump every time you cook, to prevent ash blocking the air holes.

SIX
Clean out often.

SEVEN
Break fire starters into two. It saves money...

EIGHT
Light the fire pit in two places to speed up the start up burn.

NINE
Oil (cooking oil) your cap and store it in your BGE after you have finished cooking. The residual heat will season the cap and prevent it from rusting.
