(AW) iGRill - A Review

After receiving my surprise gift, I decided to give it a test run.

First, I opened it up and had a quick look at the instructions. It took a while to find out what app I needed to download. Why oh why not give us a QR code? It is not as if you can use this without a phone anyway?

The probe came on a snazzy little tidy holder, but i'll probably end up draping it from the probe hook with all the others!

I had a little trouble getting it to work, as when the battery went in, it pushed the contact down so only the bend in the contact was touching, making it cut out. But a quick bend of the contact and it seems to work ok.

Well, the probe went in the bird, and to do a comparison, I have also used two other probes.

Next I fired up the app...

This was easy to navigate, and all I needed to do was select the meat I was cooking, and it set the temperature for me!

I delved a bit deeper, and you can also set your own settings, which is handy, as there was not one for the '3 bird fatty' that Newman cooks!

When the temperature got within 10 degrees of the target, the phone beeps to alert you!

The iGrill worked perfectly, and was within 5f of the baby monitor temp, so accurate enough for me!

Cheer Mike :-)
